Shruti Vig is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Maryland. Currently under the mentorship of Dr. Huang Chiao Huang and Dr. Graeme F. Woodworth, her research focuses on developing test methodologies for evaluating the phototoxicity potential of clinically used fluorophores and photosensitizers for safe clinical translation of light-activatable technologies. Shruti has also been an active member of Women in Engineering society at UMD. Recognized for her academic prowess, Shruti has earned accolades such as the MPower Fellowship, UMD Summer Research Fellowship, and has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in research, mentorship, and community engagement.
