Dr. Roya Sherafat is a trained physician and holds dual PhDs in epidemiology and health policy. Roya has over a decade experience in clinical research in the field of obesity and cardiometabolic health specifically on profiling risk factors, adverse cardiometabolic outcomes, and heterogeneity of treatment effects in clinical trials. Subsequently, she has focused her research on design and evaluation of value-based payment and incentive systems for the elderly population and patients with multiple comorbidities. She has extensively worked on conceptualization of quality of healthcare, assessment, risk-adjustments and benchmarking methodology, and implications of incorporating Patient-Reported Outcome Measures into value proposition of VBPs.
