Chief Executive Officer
Dr Choong was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) of Singapore on 1 July 2014. She oversees HSA’s wide-ranging public health responsibilities, comprising health products regulation, the national blood service, the national analytical and forensic science laboratory services, and forensic medicine services. She was awarded a Scholarship to study medicine in 1981 and graduated in 1986. After starting work as a physician, she moved over to policy roles covering healthcare, finance, info-communications technology, security and education, before joining HSA. She has received 3 National Day awards from the President of Singapore, the latest in 2022 for her contributions to Singapore's pandemic response.
