Dr. Alfaro received her B.S. in pharmacy from Purdue University and her Pharm.D. from the Ohio State University. She completed a residency and research fellowship in psychiatric pharmacy at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In 1998, she joined NIH as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for NIMH and was a member of the NIMH IRB. In 2002, Dr. Alfaro joined the FDA as a clinical reviewer in the Division of Psychiatry. Dr. Alfaro transitioned to the Good Clinical Practice Assessment Branch in the Office of Scientific Investigations in 2015. Through bioresearch monitoring inspections, she assesses data integrity and human subject protections for applications submitted to the Division of Neurology.
